W860CU - GPU/Display Issue

Can someone tell me what could be the problem, photo below. Obviously, it starts with booting, so I suspect it's something with GPU or display. Notebook shuts down when Windows starts loading.

Guys, I think it's about time I make this thread! After 5+ years of using my NP8170, I think it's time for me to get something newer (especially with Kaby Lake and Ryzen coming up)! Seeing that it is a bad idea to just rush out to get the newest shiny toy out there instead of planning first considering that I gotten myself burnt too many times for doing this, I decided to sit down and plan it out (yes, I even have to create an Excel document!)... and unfortunately I...

New 120hz Laptops Displays = Gorgeous!

For anyone wondering,
the new 17" Sager Displays with 120hz refresh have beautiful, clear colors.

When i calibrated my display the factory color gamut was the closest match to a post calibrated laptop display ive seen. Very good color gamut out of the box.

Most noticeable however is the crisp, clean, clear colors especially with graphics and fast moving gaming.

Laptops and displays, especially the 17" models are heavy, but its worth it do to screen quality.

Dont hesitate on getting one...

Clevo 110er/Sager NP6110 IPS Screen Upgrade

Hello,

I read a few war stories from the main thread on this from the last few years. Have there been any advances on this front meaning, are there any plug and play IPS screens that now exist that would work with the Clevo110er/Sager NP6110?

I just picked one of these up and would like to put s better screen in there. I owned one years back and remember the screen being awful.

2016 is been one heck of a year, both good and bad for our dear Clevo! Some wishes and expectations were met, while others felt kinda off...

Anyway, since 2017 is coming real soon (with some nice looking upgrades incoming I hope), I thought it will be good to get the ball rolling and start this thread!

Best way to optimize 6 year old np8130

So I am proud owner of the np8130 for almost 6 years! All my gaming laptops prior never lasted longer than 3 years. Anyway, it might be the end of this comp's life. I can't play heroes of the storm, a very light game, without it crashing every game. I played the game for a year with no problems and blizzard isn't helping me out. What can I do to update this computer to the max? I update the gpu driver to no avail. I also don't update windows 7 because it instantly slows down my comp. I tired...

Hello guys, my dog ate my Clevo P650SE charger (Chicony A12-180P1A), and since i'm from Portugal, this charger is really expensive, can't get it for <80€.

So, i checked on ebay and saw this charger from alienware:

As the title implies, this thread is to post feedback on what is missing or broken (malfunctioning) in your Skylake Clevo laptop. Be sure to elaborate so others (especially Clevo) have a clear understanding of what is missing or broken so they know what needs to be done to rectify the problem.

I am creating this thread after some dialogue with Eurocom. I think we can expect that they will be watching this thread, reporting the critical issues to Clevo and acting as our advocate with the R&D...

So I have an odd issue with audio. My 3.5mm/mini toslink combo port is completely non functional. It doesn't work with headphones or toslink. Here's some debug info

System issues after BIOS upgrade

So I switched my Sager system to the XMG Kabby Lake BIOS due to Sager not getting back to me with the correct bios, I installed my 7700k and any time I launch a game my screen goes black and fans ramp up to 100%. I tap the power button once and it boots right back in to windows. I re-installed my 6700k and it does the same thing.

So my question is, does anyone have the Sager bios and EC version 1.05.02LS2? I think I'll attempt a downgrade and stick with my 6700k for a bit.

I purchased an SSD. But I accidentally did a mSATA and it is not the right size (luckily a co-worker might buy it from me or I turn it into an external drive... Any cheap enclosures?).

I am looking for 64GB under $40.

I found this one but the connectors do not look right.

Is there any fix for the awful fan curves on the Clevo laptops?

Hi guys!

This is my first Clevo laptop. I bought a Clevo P670RS-G config. Previously I had an Asus G750JX which worked very well and was very quiet. I am very pleased with my Clevo aswell but the fan curve is awful. Have tried both automatic and custom in CCC but none of them are good. Automatic is way to aggressive and Custom makes the fan spin up and down, up and down.

I totally understand if the fans spin up at high temperatures but they are loud already at 50-60 degrees which is just...

Is there any fix for the awful fan curves on the Clevo laptops?

So I bought this expensive 6K desktop replacement and ditched other options because it had socketed components so I can upgrade it and it would be a long term investment. But 1 GPU upgrade and we're locked out of getting it is very disappointing to me.

I know there is no guarantee to upgrades but IMO should not be the case on a laptop that was the flagship just a few months...

Anyone else disappointed?

Hi,

I've been a desktop user my whole life, but I'm looking to work abroad (currently in the UK, will be in Malta) so have decided to get a good laptop instead for the sake of mobility. I work as a digital artist with a lot of 3D applications so a decent CPU was a priority which is what eventually led me to Clevo machines with desktop CPU's in them. (I also wanna play games on it)

P775DM3-G Overheat Advice

Hey everyone,

I recently bought a P775DM3-G laptop (with a GTX 1080 and i7 6700K) from Scan.co.uk and so far my experience has been very negative..

Supposedly Scan.co.uk does performance checks on every laptop it sends out, but out of the box my laptop was completely under-performing, with CPU apparently throttled permanently at 20% performance (for whatever reason). Their customer service was no help whatsoever but eventually I managed to fix the problem by resetting the BIOS to default...
