Xotic PC Clevo p650re3 shipped with busted trackpad?

I'm waiting to hear back from support on this, but my Clevo p650re3 from Xotic PC just arrived with a trackpad that barely functions.

Observed behavior thus far:

1. Very frequently (sometimes as often as every few seconds) the trackpad will completely freeze the location and not respond to movement. During this time the left and right mouse buttons on the trackpad actually function (I can click/open the right click menu) but I can't move the mouse. The rest of the machine appears...
