Hi guys, I was hoping for some advice on what to do regarding fixing (if I even should) my Sager NP8150. It's 4.5 years old, so if this is the end of the road for it that's fine. If this is not the best place to go to for advice on repairs, I would appreciate someone pointing me in the right direction.

I had a 6990m in the notebook that ran obscenely hot (i.e. >100C) often, with cleaning of fans and changing thermal paste doing little to resolve the problem. It was just a fireball.

Wonderful - with a few issues.

So my screen started flickering and it appears that the display wire may be loose or worn. Lucky I still had 15 days of warranty left, so after explaining the issue they told me it should be covered under the warranty, and they will take it in for repair.
This was caused by what I could only assume to be normal wear and tear, since I lug this guy around religiously every day, 9-5PM for work and back home again, its possible Ive opened and closed my...

Hello.
I have a question - I can buy P170HM for good amount of money, without card, is there anybody who tried gtx 970m or 980m in it? Becuase i know that gtx 680m is the maximum it was upgraded too.

So I was pretty bummed that I couldn't get the 970m working well with Win10. But now I have it up and running on Win7 I have been able to run some benchmarks overclock a bit and see how it fairs.

The GTX 980 MXM has 200W power draw, the 1080 has 180W power draw, does that mean that we will be getting a 1080 inside of the next CLEVO laptop? and if so any idea when?

So my temps have decided to skyrocket so I got some Thermal Grizzly paste to replace whatever Sager stuck on there.

This has to be the worst thermal paste I've ever seen...



Yeah that's not going to keep anything cool. It has the consistency of glue. I actually had to pop the heatsink off in two points to get it to release. This stuff is worse than the last paste they used... Its taking ArctiClean forever to eat through it too.

Hey All. I've been scanning through the forums and other sites and this seems like the best place to get advice.

Running an old P150HM from new - customer build. It's got a 460m in it and quite frankly, it's getting hot enough to cook an Egg. Now clearly, I know this is not good. I'm going to clean it all out yet again and hope that holds it for a while, but I'm wondering if it's got to the point that the GPU Sealant has worn down/expired/melted and I need to re-do it with some new Artic...

New Sager NP7255 Laptop. Came with Windows 10. At first there was no Hibernate function and so I did an elevated command prompt and executed powercfg -h on but didn't make a difference.

Went into Control Panel > Power Options > Choose What Power Buttons Do, had to click the 'Change Settings That Are Not Available' since the Hibernate option amongst others was greyed out. Enabled Hibernation. Waa laa, it now appears in the Windows Power Menu (along with Shut Down and Restart)...

Well Ive had my P150SM since about two years or three ago and never had a problem. Ive also had v1 @Prema mod bios installed since it came out and everything had been working properly.

But this happened today:

For ubuntu-liveusb-botting reasons, I changed my PXE settings in the BIOS without thinking too much and saved changes and reset on bios. After that everything went dark. Computer stopped booting, nothing, ABSOLUTELY nothing shows on screen. No BIOS splash. No F2...

Hi there!
Today I was trying out Witcher 2 and the P650SE turned off never to come back again. Anyone have any ideas? Wanted to run this by you before bothering the guys at Eurocom.

Additional info:
- notebook was plugged in;
- notebook was on a flat surface and didn't feel hot at all;
- power and battery LEDs are on while plugged in and turn off for a few seconds if power button is pressed;
- no sudden movement, vibration or anything "external" happened to apparently justify this behavior....

***Update 11/1/2015 - It seems like its mostly EVGA Precision X causing the problem. If you are using Precision X, grab nVidia Inspector and use it instead - http://www.guru3d.com/files-details/nvidia-inspector-download.html - Inspector has been long respected and I have not heard of any bricking thus far... Still proceed with caution with Windows 10 but @Mr. Fox and a number of others have reported that its a combination of Precision X and new drivers causing...

So, I've been on the fence on getting the P870DM as I think HIDevolution said that in a few weeks, you can expect a 980 SLI configuration available for Clevos.

Now, I can only speculate one thing that a new Clevo laptop would be available that can fit 2 x 980s since the current P870DM configuration only allows for 1 x 980 due to the extended MXM.

A few weeks is vague, but I'm not in a rush to get a laptop at the moment. While I'm impressed with what P870DM offers, there are a few more...

So I have searched a little but can't find anything, I also don't know too much about the desktop 980 MXM card other then there seems to be some different versions 180w and 200w?

What I was thinking is, since I got my hands on a P370EM and it with some Prema Love supports 980m's will it also support a desktop 980 mxm card, and if not, what is holding the P370EM back from utilizing the 980?

Then if one of the lower TDP 980's work could SLI 980's work?

If this has already been answered,...

recently i have been into customizing new Clevo dm series and here is a very interesting discovery i have found, this covers all gpus: 980, 980m, 970m or any other you might want to install:

if you are like me and not happy with the factory TIM, you might have already taken off the heatsink and applied your favorite TIM to your GPU/GPUs, and if you are like me - then you probably know the ammount of your TIM needed to drop in the center of the die to have it...

Having a weird boot issue on my NP9772 (P770ZM). Every so often, and it happens completely at random, the system will power on but not display the boot screen. It will run for about 20 seconds or with the black screen, then shut off for 1-2 seconds, them immediately power back on, boot normally, and work perfectly.

I'm using Prema's system and GPU BIOSes. Everything is set at defaults - no overclocking. The issue will happen with both legacy and UEFI settings. I've tried tweaking everything...
